The Villas

The Iconpainter’s villas is the name we have given to our four splendid villas situated within the tranquillity of an olive grove. Guests wake each morning to the breathtaking view of the sea and the Tayegetos mountains behind. Perched on a promontory beyond is the ‘picture perfect’ village of Koroni.

Villas Interior

Each villa is detached, self-contained and separate from the others. Each has an equally fantastic uninterrupted view toward the sea. No villa overlooks the other. It goes without saying therefore that during your stay with us, there is no one ‘upstairs’ ‘,downstairs’ or ‘through the wall’. In this very important regard we are a very rare commodity indeed! Privacy and peace are high on our agenda for our guests.

Each villa has been designed with an attention to detail and comfort as the priority.Whilst maintaining a true traditional Greek feel about the villas, we have also introduced both style and quality. Each villa has a generous sitting room with TV, DVD, a collection of books, a sofa bed and storage space. Each has a fully equipped kitchen. This means a spacious fridge freezer, a dishwasher and,a full sized conventional oven, grill and four ring hob. Everything by way of utensils is provided down to a juicer, an espresso maker and a cafitiere.

The separate bedroom is furnished with the ‘Coco-mat’ sleeping system to ensure maximum comfort and luxury. If you haven’t heard of this company before, take a moment to check out their beautiful website. We are real fans and were so impressed by their standards that we added their pillows(with pillow menu of course!), slippers, monogrammed bathrobes, bespoke fabrics and bedlinen  to our inventory.

The shower room is fresh and modern and there you will find a hairdryer, lovely fragrant toiletries and soaps and soft white fluffy towels.

Moving outdoors through two sets of patio doors you will find a spacious balcony furnished with a large dining table, four comfy basket chairs and  two deck chairs. It is covered and so you don’t have to worry about too much exposure to the sun.

All villas have free wi-fi access, air conditioning and a constant supply of hot water

There is ample car parking ,laundry and ironing facilities. There is a barbeque terrace with a large grill, oven and dining table that can seat at least twelve.

In the time that we have been entertaining guests, we have had a very large percentage of ‘returners’. Often, guests tell us that they never holiday in the same place twice and we are therefore delighted when they return to holiday with us again. We have been interested over the years  to find out from our guests what essentially brings them back. They tell us that it is the peace of the place, the privacy of their own detached residence, the sparkling clean pool and the attention to even the littlest detail.

The villas have colour and life about them. There are interesting and sometimes have original art works on the walls. They are each individual in some small way. Guests find that refreshing. They also love our beautiful gardens, the fresh fruit and vegetables grown by us and available every day, the home made produce—wine, olives, jams, marmalades  and not to mention the superb breakfasts and evening meals served on our dining terrace. Our food is fresh, local, seasonal------and so good!

Around the villas, there are lots of areas to relax not least of all the delightful pool terrace. There are lovely wooden loungers with comfortable cushion covers, easy chairs and a shaded area with a table and chairs when you’ve had enough sun! Obviously, we have sun shades and umbrellas for your sunbathing. The barbeque terrace is also a great spot to relax out of the sun in the shade of the vines and olives. We have created grassed areas beside two of the villas where, again, you can do your own thing. Finally, at the dining terrace, there is a covered area with comfortable seating. You will also find there a very wide selection of books, DVDs, CDs, games, paints, brushes and other artist materials, maps, guide books, binoculars,  suggested walking routes compasses and …..did we forget to say….two new, well maintained bicycles for you to use  .

If you can drag yourself away, only 5minutes stroll will take you to Peroulia beach. This is a beautiful sandy beach with clear, clean tranquil waters. At the far end (not that far!) are a couple of really good places to eat.

There are a host of ancient and historic sites all over the Peloponnese, many are only a short drive from the villas. Ancient Messini ,Koroni, Methoni, Pylos (Nestor’s Palace), Olympia and Byzantine Mystras are all close enough to see in a day.

The villas are designed to accommodate up to four people. Two villas have a double bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed that opens out to from two single beds. The other two villas have two single beds in the bedroom with a double bed sofa.

Please note that young adults over 12 are welcome but we are not a holiday destination for families with children under that age.

The magical element about The Iconpainter’s Villas is that whilst there is a aura of tranquillity here, you are less than 1km to the nearest village Kombi with shop and taverna, less that 2km from Harakopio with more tavernas, shops, post office and supermarket. Koroni is just 5km away where you will find banks, and everything else you might need.

In these nearby villages you will discover a welcome second to none from the local people. Many guests have commented that our little spot is like the Greece of yesteryear and we tend to agree.

The Iconpainter’s Villas are special. There is no better place to stay if a holiday with peace, tranquility, yet everything to hand is your idea of paradise.
